DAY 1

8 am | Waking up at the Faena Hotel on Miami Beach is like a dream. We opened our window every morning to the sound and the view of the waves crashing, and warm sunshine leaking through the door. The entire property is curated with beautiful and engaging artwork that make you want to wander around the halls and discover the hidden secrets of the property.

9 am | Head straight to the boardwalk (accessible directly through the back of the hotel) and go for a morning walk or jog. It’s the perfect way to get your mind right for the trip’s journey ahead.

10:30 am | We made a daily morning pit-stop at the Market at Edition Hotel for breakfast. The coffee and matcha drinks are unbeatable! Just a couple of blocks down from the Faena, it’s an easy walk and a must-do. We won’t judge if you start each day with bottomless mimosas.

11:30 am | The Miami Design District is known for its sleek, modern architecture, upscale interior design stores and art galleries. Luxury fashion and jewelry boutiques, cafes and celebrity-chef restaurants draw people from all over the world. The area boasts “a creative neighborhood and shopping destination dedicated to innovative fashion, design, art, architecture and dining.” One of our favorite pieces around the walkways was “Dollar a Gallon” by Virgil Abloh. There is every high-end brand you could imagine that’s at your fingertips. Whether you’re window shopping or here to max out your credit cards, it’s an experience in it’s own.

12:15 pm | The Dior cafe is the most appropriate way to keep you caffeinated while you’re spending. These haute couture lattes are the most bojuee sips we’ve endured. The rooftop space is a great mini getaway from the branded concrete pavement.

Not in the mood for espresso? Grab a boozy ice cream from Aubi + Ramsa. Pro Tip: This is a 21+ only ice cream joint. Who knew champagne in the form of sorbet is what we’ve needed all our lives?!

1:30 pm | After getting a little brain freeze and a little buzz, we were in need of some food. We had heard about this entirely plant-based restaurant, Planta, and decided we needed to check it out for ourselves. The exterior beauty of the space alone was enough to draw us in. Chef Ben Goldman is part of the entire experience, he came out of the kitchen to talk and mingle with the tables, which is one of our favorite things - we love hearing about the passion and thought behind each dish. It’s no wonder he was awarded Eater Miami’s coveted Chef of the Year award in 2018. Planta was also named the Most Gorgeous Restaurant of the Year in Miami’s Eater Awards for 2018 and the best Vegan Restaurant in Miami. What the heck are you waiting for?! Vegan sashimi and the most insane cauliflower tots ever are waiting for you. Tell chef we sent you, and say hello for us!

6:00 pm | You’ll have gone back to the Faena to drop your bags and shower up before an exciting night out. The first stop on the list is the Edition Hotel, no we’re not getting coffee and pastries. This time, we’re taking you to the Basement. Walking down the massive stairs you almost won’t know what to expect. Don’t worry, no scary spiders or darkness here. Just a really amazing indoor ice skating rink and bowling alley. Spend some time exploring and you might just end up breaking down on the dance floor of the studio 54 themed micro club.

2901 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33140

8:30 pm | Don’t take your dancing shoes off just yet - it’s time to head to dinner at CHICA, a new latin-themed restaurant by Celebrity Chef Lorena Garcia. One of the new kids on the block but no stranger to good food, the CHICA team opened their second outpost to their Vegas location in a stunning corner space between the Little Haiti area and the Upper East Side of Miami. Chef Garcia is from Miami and plays into her culture with the fruits of the land to create some of the freshest dishes we’ve ever had.

Pro Tip: Live music starts at 10pm on the weekends, and don’t forget about the speakeasy connected in the back! You’re in for a long and fun night at CHICA.

12am | Not in the mood for more dancing but not ready for bed? Hit up Gramps for some drag queen bingo in a fun and funky setting. Pro Tip: Check their website for the full list of events.

DAY 2

8 am | We were looking forward to this breakfast the entire trip. We’re huge fans of Dr. Smood, and to finally go to their original home state of Miami for a visit was something we were highly anticipating. Their team has a clear-cut vision to be the “healthiest cafe concept ever.” Their goal is to bring unprocessed and always organic food and beverage to the whole world. Honestly, this alone would draw us in, but add the amazing flavors and superfoods together and we’re in HEAVEN. A vegan vanilla yogurt bowl and avocado low-gluten index toast paired with a Hawaj white coffee - we could get used to starting our day like this.

9:30 am | Grab a rental bike and coast around Wynwood, there are some great art pieces and stores to explore! “Known for its many colorful murals, Wynwood is one of the city’s most happening districts. Wynwood Walls is an outdoor museum showcasing large-scale works by some of the world’s best-known street artists. The surrounding streets have converted warehouses housing craft breweries and funky art galleries. A hip young crowd frequents the neighborhood’s chic clothing boutiques, stylish bistros and late-night bars.”

One of our favorite stops along our route was the brand new UNKWN store, a hype streetwear store with a really cool outdoor Nike basketball court. Backed by Lebron James, it’s no wonder we loved every shoe on the sneaker wall.

1 pm | We had to fit in some indulgence while we were in the area, we grabbed a quick snack at Zak the Baker to see what the hype was about (and it’s VERY well deserved), and we made our way back to Dasher and Crank for some cold scoops. There is a rotating pop-up vendor that operates out of the front of the store, and plenty of games to keep the little ones (or yourself, we don’t judge) entertained. Can’t decide on just one flavor? Us either. We may or may not have tested the limits and done 6 scoops in our cone…

2211 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127

2pm | Head back to Faena to catch some rays (and a tan). Peep the $30M gold plated mammoth as you enter the secluded pool area.

5 pm | One of our favorite things to do while traveling is to watch the sunset in a unique space. Luckily for us, Miami boasts some of the most magical sky paintings around. We chose to spend our golden hour at the Watr, the Rooftop on the One Hotel sipping craft cocktails and thinking of how grateful we are. Yeah, sunsets make us sappy, okay?!

7:30 pm | We were so ready for some more latin flavors this trip. they had been hitting us in all the right ways. A few locals pointed us in the direction of Orilla Bar & Grill. We walked through this tranquil hideaway below the Urbanica Hotel. This is the group’s second location from their original Buenos Ares spot by chef Fernando Trocca. A few very unique twists to classic favorites have a home on their menu, and honestly great prices for the area and type of cuisine.

Pro Tip: Do NOT skip out on drinks. Orilla is known for their cocktail program, including an old fashioned infused with dulce de leche. Yes, it tastes as good as it sounds.

9 pm | After we were so full we could be rolled out of the restaurant, we were grateful the next stop was just across the street. Minibar at the Meridian Hotel is a must for after-dinner drinks. Shooters inside of throwback favorites like Arizona iced tea and classic mini pineapple juices are a fresh squeezed boozy stop in the night.

11 pm | The Bay Club is a low-key yet high energy way to keep the party going. Whether it’s karaoke night or just a casual Tuesday, this place always has something going on. Do not sleep on the pizza place next door. Lucali is a local staple, like “if you know, you know” type of place. Impress your friends by showing them this hidden gem.

DAY 3

To end a perfectly filled weekend of delicious food, you have to go out with a bang, AKA some southern comfort food at Yardbird. We loved this airy yet cozy space that cranked out the best lobster mac and chicken & waffles we’ve ever had. We asked our server what the secret ingredient was, and he told us it’s a family recipe from the owner’s grandmother, which made us love it even more. With over 75 types of bourbon on the menu, you know this is going to be a fun flight back home!

Pro Tip: Put your order for the cinnamon roll in first, they run out quickly!
